A Raisin in the Sun

Post the abolishment of slavery in the USA in Blacks were still hugely marginalised. Naturally people are ambitious. Blacks were denied many opportunities that their white neighbours accessed. Many a man is resilient and solution focussed. They will find ways around the system. They will tolerate much. This is a story of an ambitious man, who wants to provide for his family, he wants the same opportunities he knows he is worthy of. There are hurdles. This is a story of trying to overcome hurdles which were peculiar to black families living in the USA in the 1960s.

The story tells of a black family's experiences in south Chicago, as they attempt to improve their financial circumstances with an insurance pay out following the death of the father.
